Grand Counselor's Association

Purpose:

  • To provide for the discussion and study of amendments to the UCT Constitution, By-Laws and Standing Orders governing Supreme, Grand or local councils.
  • To make recommendations to Supreme Officers, staff and delegates at the annual session.
  • To provide training for members wishing to be considered as Supreme Officers.
  • To provide a burial fund benefit to the beneficiaries of members.
  • To provide scholarships for children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of members.
Membership is open to:

Any Grand Officer who has completed three (3) full terms (years) as a Grand Officer. Those 60 years of age or older must join by July 31 of the first year of eligibility or at the first Supreme Session attended to qualify for the Burial Fund Benefit membership.

Types of Membership:
  • Basic Membership only: Dues are $10 per year. Receive full voting rights and privileges.
  • Basic Membership and Burial Fund Benefit:
    1. Dues are $10 per year, plus $2 assessment per death of Burial Fund members, payable upon notice of the secretary-treasurer of the GCA within 60 days.
    2. Member's beneficiary will receive the Burial Fund Benefit, not to exceed $650, upon presenting a death certificate copy to the secretary-treasurer of the member's local council.
    3. If over sixty (60) years of age, the member must have joined by July 31 of the first year of eligibility or at the first Supreme Session attended to qualify for the Burial Fund Benefit.
    4. May join at any time later; provided you are under (60) years of age.
