UCT established an endowment fund at The James in 1990 with a $25,000 contribution. The fund has since grown to $120,000 and supports The James' sophisticated and diverse cancer research programs. UCT's Board of Governors approved the additional $10,000 donation at the December 2009 Board meeting.

In pursuit of new ways to combat cancer, physicians and scientists at The James continuously blaze trails on the leading edge of basic, clinical/translational and prevention research. Research programs ensure that patients receive the best possible care and treatment, that medical professionals benefit from the educational aspects of research programs, that clinical investigators have the opportunity to advance medical knowledge, and that the community benefits from participation in state-of-the-art cancer research.
