Ohio members step up to raise funds for cancer research
ALLIANCE, Ohio, May 2011 - Twenty members of Alliance, Ohio Council 261 took to the track recently at the University of Mount Union for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event. The team raised nearly $3,000 for cancer research and programs and was one of the event's bronze sponsors - not bad for a first time effort! In total 36 teams of 420 participants raised more than $37,000.

Originating in the United States, the 24-hour event has spread to 21 countries worldwide, raising billions of dollars each year.
