UCT set to keep the faith for Faith Mission

COLUMBUS, Ohio, December 2011 - UCT and CYP (Columbus Young Professionals) will be warming up Columbus at Keepin' the Faith taking place from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, at BAR 23. This is a cold weather drive to collect much-needed items for Faith Mission Homeless Shelters.

Faith Mission homeless shelters are facing unprecedented demand for their services this winter and are struggling to maintain adequate cold weather supplies to serve their residents. This is where the Columbus community comes in! Join us by bringing an item from Faith Mission's urgent needs list to Bar 23, then enjoy drink specials and complimentary appetizers as we sort, box and label items and load up the Faith Mission truck at 8:30 p.m.! Dress warmly and comfortably as we'll need all available muscles to hit our goal of FILLING UP THE TRUCK!!

The entry fee to Keepin' the Faith is a donated item. Items can be gently used, but must be clean. Needed items include:

• Blankets
• Sheets (especially XL twin sheets)
• Bath towels and washcloths
• Pillows (must be new, due to health regulations)
• Laundry baskets
• Cleaning supplies
• New adult-size underwear, thermals & socks
• Men's gloves
• Warm adult-size hats
• Scarves

*Except for pillows & underwear/socks, items can be new or clean and gently used.

Unable to attend but want to donate? There will be an area blocked off outside of Bar 23 the night of the event where you can drop off donated items. Volunteers will be outside by the designated drop-off area. Items can also be dropped off at the UCT office located at 1801 Watermark Drive, Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43215.
