Students win big through UCT's international safety poster contest

JACKSONVILLE, Florida, July 2011 - Thirty-six students throughout the U.S. and Canada were announced as winners of UCT's annual international safety poster contest during our annual convention. The winners, who focused on such safety issues as the dangers of texting and driving, substance abuse and fire and water safety, will receive ribbons and cash prizes.

Promoting safety awareness among young people is one of UCT's longtime community service efforts. In keeping with that we sponsor the annual contest for students in public, private and parochial schools and for students with intellectual disabilities.

Posters promoting any type of safety are eligible. Judging takes place in the two divisions first on local and regional levels and then progresses to the international level. Professional judges working in the art and safety fields assess the posters based on originality, artistic ability and relevant content.
