| Life Line Screening… a UCT benefit protecting health and lives Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the No. 1 killer of men and women in North America - and a leading cause of permanent disability. Unfortunately, many significant vascular problems go undetected until it's too late. Your doctor can typically order these tests only if you are experiencing symptoms. However, four out of five stroke victims have absolutely no symptoms. Don't let that happen to you. Screenings can save lives Now you have the opportunity to screen for potential strokes, aneurysms and other vascular diseases before they become life-threatening. Life Line screenings are painless, non-invasive, and take less than 10 minutes each. You don't even have to remove your clothing. UCT members have the opportunity to receive these painless, non-invasive and easy-to-obtain health screenings at a discounted rate. The Stroke, Vascular Disease & Heart Rhythm package is available to U.S. members for only $135. The package includes stroke/carotid artery screening, atrial fibrillation screening (abnormal heart rhythm), peripheral arterial disease (PAD) screening, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening. An osteoporosis screening can be added for just $10. If a condition is found that is life-threatening, you will be notified on the day of the screening so that you can consult your physician immediately. Otherwise, your screening will be read by a board-certified physician and your results will be mailed within three weeks. Payment may be made at the time you schedule your screening. While credit cards are encouraged, check and cash payments are also accepted. Payments made at the screening site on the day of the appointment are subject to a $3 finance charge. You may have already received or will be receiving information about Life Line Screening coming to your area. Council 70, is testament to the vital importance of Life Line Screening’s tests. While taking advantage of the screening for UCT members, Lochmann was told that he had an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which had it ruptured would have been fatal. He credits Life Line Screening with saving his life. “I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for Life Line Screening,” Lochmann said. “I have now recovered from surgery and appreciate every day this fine and wonderful service that was, for me, heaven sent.” | ||
