UCT members receive a subscription to the organization's 16-page, full-color magazine, The Sample Case, published exclusively for members four times per year. The Sample Case provides pertinent information about UCT and its activities, including articles about our community activities, annual convention, JOIN HANDS DAY, the UCT Charities Trust Fund, scholarship winners, benefits and discounts, and local and Grand council news.

Magazine deadlines

Members are urged to submit information about local and Grand council activities, along with accompanying color photographs, for use in the magazine. Space and timeliness permitting, information and photos submitted to The Sample Case will appear in the issue closest to the deadline date.

Summer issue - April 9, 2010
Autumn issue - July 16, 2010
Winter issue - Oct.15, 2010

Photos arriving after an issue's deadline will be scheduled for the next issue of the magazine. Time sensitive photos or those that involve a particular season or holiday that has already passed might not be used at all.

Photo submission guidelines

Action photos and unique shots are encouraged. We will accept high resolution digital files emailed to lfisher@uct.org or copied to a CD, professionally printed digital photos, or 4 x 6-inch colored glossies.

Polaroid photos, laser copy prints and newspaper clippings will not be accepted since they do not reproduce well. Submit separate information about the photo, including the council name and number, the activity taking place, and the people pictured in left-to-right order. DO NOT write on the back of the photo. Photos will be returned only when specifically requested.
