Eldon High School Receives $10,000 from UCT!

On Thursday morning, April 3, 2014, UCT’s CEO Joe Hoffman and I entered the gymnasium at Eldon High School in Eldon, Missouri with a check for $10,000 and were greeted by more than 500 students, teachers, faculty, staff, board members, and members of the community.

To say Eldon, Missouri, is a special town is an understatement. With a population of just over 4,000, what this community accomplished in order to win the UCT Gives Back…Again contest was simply incredible. Just by entering the online competition brought together the students at Eldon High School and from there created an unbelievable support system throughout the community. As flyers were distributed, emails blasts were sent, Facebook posts were shared, newspaper articles were printed, and local TV reports were aired – all had the same message – VOTE! In second place with only three days left of the competition, Eldon High School and the community managed to pull ahead and take home the grand prize of $10,000!

On behalf of UCT, congratulations again to Eldon High School Mustangs’ Life Skills class! We hope the $10,000 will assist your Life Skills students, and that the competition provided awareness and shed some light on your amazing students and community this year and for years to come!
