Fifth Annual Winter Hockey Festival

The 5th annual UCT Winter Hockey Festival returns to its roots this weekend as we return to Northwest Ohio. The first two festivals were held at the outdoor rink in Ottawa Park in Toledo, and then we had one on the east coast, one on the west coast, and for the fifth festival we are back in the Toledo area. In addition to playing in Ottawa Park again this year, there will be games at the BGSU Ice Arena. The fun begins at 8:00 AM both Saturday and Sunday.

These tournaments are always a great time. Watching these special hockey teams compete is an amazing experience. If you have some time over the weekend, stop by and take in a game or two, or attend the opening ceremonies on Saturday at 5:00 PM at the BGSU Ice Arena.

UCT’s 6-year partnership with the American Special Hockey Association has been very rewarding, and I think we have helped them with their mission. Helping these teams to provide opportunities to special athletes is the most recent manifestation of UCT’s 60 year commitment to helping those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
