Convention Presentations… we have a “game plan”

For the past couple of years we have been adding more presentations and educational sessions for our members at the annual UCT Convention – and this year will be no exception!

Our keynote speaker this year is Warren Barhorst and his presentation will be “Leverage: How To Do More With Less.” Do you want your council to continue for the next generation? Are you looking for ways to expand your council’s membership and mission? Do you want your own personal passion and knowledge leveraged into future council leaders?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you don’t want to miss Warren’s presentation following Opening Ceremonies and the Memorial on Monday evening. Warren, CEO of Iscential, will help you think through ways to accomplish those goals and provide you with some tools to help you realize them.

Warren Barhorst is the founder and CEO of Iscential, a Texas-based risk management, insurance and financial services firm. He is also the founding partner of Renovo Partners, LLC, a business consulting firm.  In addition to his work Warren is the author of Game Plan… The Definitive Playbook for Starting or Growing Your Business”.  His Second book in the series:  “Game Plan… The Definitive Playbook for Selling in the Connection Culture” was released in January of 2016.

Warren’s passion for financial literacy and business success frequently has him presenting from coast to coast, from fourth-grade classrooms to executive boardrooms. He is driven to educate others about how to make wise choices that will positively impact their personal and business financial future.

Here’s a fun story about Warren and his connection to Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown.

Vreeland Head Shot 2017We also have Julie Vreeland presenting a session on “The Right Stuff:  Recruiting and Retaining the “Right” Members”. Finding new members – and getting them involved and keeping them involved – seems to be the primary challenge for most UCT local councils. It might just be that the solution is to find the “right” new members with the passion, drive, and stick-with-it-ness to make your local council successful. Interested? Let Julie Vreeland of the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration (MAVA) tell you how.

Julie is MAVA’s Greater Minnesota outreach and partnership coordinator responsible for working to expand and build capacity for Western and Northern Minnesota non-profits and government entities through excellence in volunteerism, building partnerships, and focusing on outreach and relationship building. She has more than 30 years of non-profit experience, with over 15 of those years in the chamber of commerce management field.

We hope you are as excited as we are to hear from our two presenters at the 2017 UCT Convention! It’s time to “leverage” our strengths and work on UCT’s “game plan!” See you in Greenville!
