Charles (Charlie) Short of Logansport, Indiana Council 354, was honored as the recipient of UCT’s Lifetime Achievement Award during our annual convention in New Orleans. He was recognized for the exceptional volunteer contributions he has made over the years to his community and for his 25 plus years of dedication to UCT on local, regional and international levels.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be part of an organization that gives so much to communities across North America.” Charlie said. “UCT has been a big part of my life for over 25 years and this award is truly appreciated.”
Through his work with Council 354, Charlie has given 100 percent to UCT and, through it, to his community by supporting local causes and charities. For decades he has been instrumental in promoting UCT’s safety poster contest in local schools, and through his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts has coordinated Join Hands Day cleanup efforts at Dunwoody Park.
Charlie has served through the UCT lines of offices at both the local and regional levels, earning his past president and past regional president honors. He has also served on numerous committees on the international level and has been a delegate to many of the organization’s annual conventions.
