COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 2019 – At least 500 Columbus foodies throughout Columbus and especially the Grandview area turned out to sample eats from six different area food trucks and help the local community in the process. It was all part of the 5th annual UCT Food Truck Rally, which once again served as UCT’s Operation Feed campaign kickoff.
Participating food trucks included Schmidt’s Sausage Truck, Tortilla, Chris’ Snack Shack, Legacy Smoke House, Rockin Rolls and Johnson’s Real Ice Cream. The food trucks donated 10 percent of their proceeds to the Operation Feed campaign, which will benefit the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Operation Feed has provided meals for families in need for nearly 40 years by distributing millions of pounds of food to food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters across 20 Ohio counties. UCT has supported the Operation Feed campaign for around 20 years and last year raised over 22,000 meals for the food bank. Every $1 raised = 4 meals for hungry individuals in Central Ohio.
