Making a Difference Together

Second place video contest winner thanks UCT for support

Nothing makes us happier than being able to help others, especially children! And through the UCT Gives Back AGAIN video contest, we were able to do just that.

Earlier this month, Community Outreach manager Jen Szymczak shared the good news about the two schools chosen for first and second places in the video contest. Let me be honest, it was not an easy decision. Every school that entered the contest presented great ideas on how they would improve their schools and the lives of their students.

But what the judges saw in both Truman Elementary (Springfield, Missouri) and Waldron Learning Center (Coldwater, Michigan) was a passion for not only helping their students, but also others within the district and future students. Their plans included giving back to others.

So now, second place winner – Waldron Learning Center – will be adding an additional classroom to include more students. We wanted to share this picture of the Waldron students giving UCT and all our members, thumbs up for choosing them.

A celebration and check presentation is planned for Wednesday, April 26. Coldwater Council 452 along with board member Glenn Suever will be in attendance to present Waldron Learning Center their $5,000 prize. Stay tuned for pictures and videos of the event!

(And check back soon, because Jen is in Missouri presenting Truman Elementary with their first place prize!)
