Making a Difference Together

UCT is giving back AGAIN – this time through a video contest for schools that will award a total of $15,000!

In December, UCT made two special hockey teams pretty darn happy by awarding them a $10,000 and $5,000 prize for their programs through the UCT Gives Back AGAIN to Special Hockey video contest. The contest gave everyone involved – those of us at UCT and the special hockey coaches and players – such a great feeling that we decided to kick off 2017 by giving back AGAIN, this time to schools!

That’s right, UCT is calling for entries from U.S. and Canadian schools with programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities or colleges and universities with programs to train special education teachers for our 2017 UCT Gives Back AGAIN video contest! AGAIN, we’re giving away two prizes – a $10,000 first place award and a $5,000 second place award.

And, AGAIN, the UCT Gives Back AGAIN contest will be easy to enter:

  • Create a short video up to 2 ½  minutes long about the school’s program
  • The video doesn’t need to be professionally filmed – use a video camera or phone and keep it simple
  • Explain how the $10,000 would help the school’s program
  • Submit the school’s video 15-March 27, 2017, for a chance to win $10,000 or $5,000

Video finalists will be posted on UCT’s Facebook page March 27-April 21, 2017, for followers to vote on the winners. The winning schools will be announced April 22 and awarded the $10,000, and $5,000 cash prizes in May 2017.

Helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities has been UCT’s number one community service project for over 60 years. UCT Gives Back AGAIN is one more way UCT makes a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and development disabilities.

If you know of schools, colleges or universities in your area that might be eligible, please let them know about the contest. Share the info on social media, Distribute contest flyers, send people to the contest page of our website at www.uct.org, or have them contact Linda Fisher at lfisher@uct.org or at 800.848.0123 x1130, or Jen Szymczak at jszymczak@uct.org or at 800.848.0123 x1207, for more details.
