Making a Difference Together

You can help us promote our Kaye Trainer campaign!

Posted on Feb 23, 2016 by: UCT

UCT kicked off The Kaye Trainer International Capital Campaign in July 2014. This is an ongoing campaign until we reach our total campaign goal of raising $200,000 or 80 Kaye Trainer devices to help special hockey athletes with developmental disabilities across North America safely learn to skate.

A Kaye Trainer is a physical therapy device used in rehabilitation centers worldwide and manufactured by Kaye Products. Originally designed for recovery from traumatic leg/hip injuries or illnesses, special hockey programs have discovered an alternative use for the device. According to Dave Chase of the Valencia S.N.A.P. Flyers special hockey program in Valencia, California, “The device is THE safest way to teach someone how to skate!” The campaign is designed to supply every special hockey program with a Kaye Trainer, which includes suspension and harness. In total, each device costs $2,500, including shipping. Every donation is 100% tax deductible.

UCT is a non-profit financial services membership organization based in Columbus, Ohio, that supports communities and causes across North America. Our organization is a longtime supporter of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. UCT is the national sponsor of the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) and has been supporting special hockey throughout North America for more than six years. In addition to the Kaye Trainer International Capital Campaign, UCT has also contributed more than $100,000 to ASHA, hosts an annual UCT Winter Hockey Festival, as well as an online video contest that awards $10,000 and $5,000 to two individual special hockey programs. These programs are all a result of UCT’s continued support and dedication to special hockey and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

To date, UCT members have donated nearly $60,000!! We are expanding our campaign to companies and organizations outside of UCT in the hopes that others will see the tremendous benefits the Kaye Trainer has opened up for these special athletes. Our new promotional video is below.

Please help us promote this campaign using the video below so that we can raise funds for all special hockey programs in North America to receive a Kaye Trainer. Thank you!!
