Last call! I know every UCT local council has at least one member who goes the extra mile in their volunteer efforts and deserves to be nominated for their achievements. Don’t let the good works of these members go unrecognized – submit a nomination for the Volunteer of the Year Award before April 30, 2020.
The Volunteer of the Year Award is an honor presented by UCT to recognize a member who, through example and accomplishment, has provided outstanding volunteer service to his or her council and community during the past year. The nominee must be a member in good standing of a UCT local council and must be living at the time of nomination and selection. Only one winner will be selected, and the award can be won only once by an individual. However, councils are encouraged to nominate an individual nominated previously, but not selected as Volunteer of the Year.
The most important elements in selecting the Volunteer of the Year are his or her contributions to UCT and the local community in keeping with our commitment to community and compassion. The three areas of focus on the nomination form are: Local council support, community service, and ability to mobilize generations. Sponsoring new members shouldn’t be a basis for nomination. The award will be presented at the 2020 UCT convention in Lexington, Kentucky.
Thirty-six dedicated UCT members have been recognized as volunteers of the year since 1984. Maybe this year it will be your fellow member!
Guidelines and nomination forms are available on the Members’ Area of our website at www.uct.org under Programs & Contests or by contacting me at lfisher@uct.org or at 800.848.0123 x1130. Again, the deadline for submissions is April 30. Nominations RECEIVED after this date will not be considered, so get started on your nomination today! If you have questions, please let me know.
