UCT Gives Thanks – and Gives Back

Posted on Nov 15, 2012 by: UCT

Thanksgiving festivities were held October 8th for all Canadians, and as Americans gear up for the big day on November 22nd, we at UCT are stopping to GIVE THANKS for many good things. In addition to good health, shelter, food and clean water, we at UCT are thankful for…

…Schools that serve individuals with intellectual disabilities. In fact, we’re so thankful for the amazing work you do, that we are giving away $10,000 to one lucky school! For more information, visit our UCT Gives Back app and nominate your school by November 30th!

…the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA). Not only does ASHA give people of all ages and abilities a chance to learn to play hockey – it creates friendships, a sense of belonging and enables growth beyond expectations for those who participate. But don’t take our word for it – read this article about a former ASHA player who is preparing for college ice time!

…fraternal benefit societies. Ok, so we’re a little biased since UCT is a fraternal benefit society, but we are thankful that there are organizations whose insurance operations don’t pay dividends to shareholders, but instead fund community service projects in local communities across the U.S. and Canada! As if that weren’t enough, fraternal members plan, direct and run those community service events to support charities near and dear to their hearts. What a business model!

As you pause to give thanks for the great things in your life, consider connecting with a UCT council near you or browsing our insurance products today and make a difference in your local community!
